A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL...

Hello Tarver-Rendon Family,
We are super excited that our Page Turners' Reading Program has shown so much success already this year! Our students have already read 5,099 books, which is over halfway to our school-wide goal of 10,000 books!! The students are doing an excellent job reading and responding to their books in class with journals, discussions, and/or Choice Boards. Many of our students were able to participate in grade level parties when they met their individual goal. The amount of students who marched in the PT Parade dressed as their favorite characters exceeded our expectations. We know this will continue as this program grows.
Reminder of Rules for Reading Parade:
• Students read 10 books, 20 books, 30 books, etc. and those books have been documented in their reading journal (each grading period).
• During the parades, students may dress up as their favorite book character costume/outfit (as long as they have the book with them).
Thank you, parents, for supporting this new program and helping us create life-long readers!
Regards,
Ms. Norwood
