A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL...

Hello Tarver-Rendon Family,
Happy New Year and welcome back to our 2nd semester!
We hope everyone had a restful, happy holiday with family and friends. We wanted to give you some information and up-coming dates. You should have received several emails and copies of our new front door security updates. Bottom line, please always have you drivers license or ID with you when visiting school. You will need to buzz the office, front doors will be locked. We may ask to see your ID before allowing entrance. We need to process 1 person at a time, please do not allow someone behind you to enter once we open the door for you. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON OUR NEW SECURITY UPDATES.
Also, in an effort to decrease unnecessary absences, we will be implementing a class reward program. Unnecessary absences cost us funding money and hurt our accountability rating. Our absence rate is below district and state averages. More information coming soon.
You may may also recognize more administrative presence out front in the morning during drop-off time. Thank you so much to all of you who follow our drop-off procedures! Thank you also to all of you who park in the designated walk-up parking areas. We have had multiple complaints of parents parking in the front lot and kids being dropped-off in front. As a reminder, the front lot is not designated parking for the walk-up parking. We are, however, having an excessive amount of parents dropping kids off out front with no supervision. Our procedures are designed based on safety for our students and parents. With almost 700 students, we realize drop-off and pick- up is heavy. Plan to leave the house a little earlier in the morning. We have plenty of staff ready to receive and dismiss students.
Upcoming dates:
1/21 - MLK holiday
1/24 - 2nd grade field trip
1/28-2/1 - Book Fair
1/30 - 3rd grade to Stock Show (no parents)
1/31 - 4th grade to Stock Show (no parents)
1/31 - Open House 5:00-6:30
2/4 - PTA fundraiser begins – more info later
