I am Amanda McCarther, and I am excited to serve as your assistant principal this school year! The 20-21 school year marks my fourth year at Tarver-Rendon, and I am humbled to serve our students, teachers, parents, and community another year. This year, we are working diligently to meet students where they are and provide academic, social and emotional support along the way. I am excited to share that our students have adjusted well to this unusual year and we are looking forward to a successful school year!
Radiant Roadrunner We will recognize our Radiant Roadrunners at the end of each grading cycle. One boy and one girl in K-4th grade (face-to-face and VLA) as the Radiant Roadrunner. Teachers at each grade level will select our Radiant Roadrunners each month. These students are chosen based on the following criteria:
*Demonstrates appropriate behavior choices *Lends a helping hand to others *Respects self and others *Exhibits a positive attitude
Students who receive this recognition will receive the following: *Radiant Roadrunner yard sign that they will keep *Picture displayed in the display case located in the cafeteria and Facebook
I will notify parents to inform them that their child has been recognized as a Radiant Roadrunner. Parents may pick up their yard sign or request that it be sent home with their student. We are excited to recognize our students in this unique way! Additionally, we are continuing to highlight students' who model exemplary behavior daily with positive office referrals. Students receive positive office referrals when they exhibit desired behaviors. Our VLA students have an opportunity to earn positive office referrals as well! Coming Soon: World Kindness Day-November 13 When we share acts of kindness, we color our world. Acts of kindness will be written on colorful hearts and placed on the “Kindness Tree” by the first grade hallway. Students and staff members are encouraged to wear colorful clothing on this day! TA I firmly believe the work we do here to prepare students to be productive citizens is valuable. My door is always open, and I welcome any opportunity to meet with you to discuss concerns, answer questions, and share celebrations! Here to serve, Amanda McCarther, Ed. D
